If your company is of a certain size and has a computer network of more than 20 PC's (this is a number that has to be evaluated) and/or has offices in several locations nationwide or internationally and/or have a group of travelling salesmen, it is very likely that you would benefit from an Intranet.

The Intranet is in effect a closed circuit Internet, based on the same technology. This means that only people who you want to give access to will be able to see the contents.

It can be used for a variety of reasons, you could for instance give your employees access to company manuals, procedures and internal news and if you have travelling salesmen, they could access price lists, contracts and internal product information as applicable.
