XML - eXtensible Markup Language
This is a subset of SGML working together with HTML and SGML. It can integrate multiple sources of data and gives a much better control of contents than HTML. It also enables active and dynamic behaviours of a kind that has previously not been possible in HTML and takes Information Management to new heights. More than likely, XML will gradually phase out HTML over the coming years.
